On the morning of Sunday, 1 Tir (22 June), the nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan were heavily bombarded by the United States and Israel. The attack on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear infrastructure marks a new chapter in its history. What options are now left for the regime?
First and foremost, this is the most significant military and political blow ever dealt to the Islamic Republic. European governments have effectively aligned with the US on this action. The bombings come at a time when disarray among the regime’s senior leadership is rampant. Dozens of top IRGC commanders, military officials, and nuclear scientists have been killed. Politically shattered, economically crippled, and stripped of coherence in its so-called “axis of resistance”, the regime is visibly imploding.
But perhaps the greatest threat remains the overthrow movement, which is closely monitoring the situation. Amidst the chaos engulfing the Islamic Republic, this movement is preparing to strike a lethal blow and free society from the regime’s nuclear, missile, and repressive grip.
In this scenario, the regime’s only “option” is total surrender: a complete and immediate halt to the nuclear project, and an end to all uranium enrichment. It must also abandon the production of ballistic missiles and its entire missile policy—demands the regime cannot simply ignore.
As the regime enters this stage, society must reassert its economic, political, and social demands and advance the Women, Life, Freedom overthrow movement with greater strength.
One critical point must not be forgotten: in this sensitive political moment, we must remain vigilant. The regime must not be allowed to exploit the situation to carry out further executions. The world must be prepared to confront this. The Islamic Republic’s human rights violations in Iran must receive far greater attention than ever before. Inaction now would be an unforgivable act of complicity with this regime.
