Ceasefire between the Islamic Regime and Israel-By Sina Pedram- 24 June 2025

Donald Trump announced that a ceasefire agreement had been reached between Israel and Iran, set to take effect in roughly six hours. The fragile truce now appears to be in place, though Israel has accused the Islamic Republic of violating it, an allegation the regime denies.

“Congratulations to all,” said Trump, adding that the ceasefire would begin with a 12-hour truce from the Islamic Republic, followed by another 12-hour truce from Israel. He stated that the war would come to an end after these 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Reuters reported—citing an informed source— that following Iran’s missile attack on the US base in Qatar, the Qatari prime minister Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani had a phone conversation with Iranian officials and secured Tehran’s agreement for a ceasefire in the conflict with Israel.

The unnamed source added that this phone call occurred after Trump informed the Emir of Qatar that Israel had agreed to a ceasefire and requested his help in persuading Tehran to do the same.

What appears evident is that the Islamic regime’s surrender was sealed by a ‘strike’ on Qatar. It may sound laughable, but just hours after Iran’s attack on the Al Udeid base, Qatar’s foreign minister became the bearer of ‘peace.’

For us, the Iranian people, today is simply a continuation of the same war we’ve fought for 46 years against this regime—۴۶ years of struggle for freedom, dignity, and prosperity. No top-down ‘peace’ can end this war. Only the regime’s overthrow by a united public can deliver lasting peace.

Another point this ‘peace’ between two fascist regimes—the Islamic Republic and the Israeli state—makes clear is this: in both, the wars of capitalists and in their ‘peace’, ordinary people reap nothing but ruin. Once again, regime change in Iran is in the hands of the people.

The weakened and battered regime must not be allowed to use this moment to attack people’s freedoms. Without a doubt, Iranian society is now positioned to confront the regime’s assaults with greater unity. The masters may make ‘peace’—the people’s war continues.
