Sajjad Naseri, secretary of the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice Committee in Zanjan province, stated: “The issue of compulsory hijab is a distortion. What we’re really seeing today is forced unveiling, which is being imposed on the people.” He added: “Unfortunately, some officials pay no attention to the matter of hijab.”
One can only wonder which cave this zombie has been hiding in over the past few years. But clearly, the disorientation caused by the recent 12-day war has driven every last creature within the Islamic regime to respond. Just a few weeks ago, the Islamic Republic was the undeniable loser in its war against women—and nothing in the past fortnight has changed that fact in the regime’s favour.
These latest attacks on society by the regime will soon evaporate into thin air. What the Woman, Life, Freedom revolution has imposed on the regime is irreversible. No elaborate mass psychology is needed to grasp this simple truth: society is merely waiting for the right moment to finish off a regime in collapse.
The issue of compulsory hijab is one battleground where the people have long since broken through the regime’s defensive lines. Even raising the topic now—after the regime’s 12-day defeat—is nothing more than a tasteless joke. Someone should tell this washed-up cleric: women did not come all this way just to return at your command.
