In a video timestamped 3:55 p.m., a man reports that in 55°C heat in Ahvaz, the Islamic Republic has cut off water and electricity.
This is Iran—the place that, according to religious lore, God reserves for disobedient sinners. Those who defy divine authority and fail in devotion are said to face hellfire. For them, Ahvaz is a glimpse of divine punishment.
God, to execute His commands, appointed prophets. Prophets chose imams, and the imams appointed deputies. Thus, the long story of human torment has led to this: God created the Islamic Republic so that we, the people of Iran, would be tortured, murdered, starved, and left to burn in the heat and thirst as a divine trial.
But this God has favourites—those known as imamzadehs (descendants of Imams) and aghazadehs (family of the Islamic regime’s elite) —who’ve built their paradise here on earth and thank their God daily.
This cannot continue. We, the people—growing more disillusioned and enraged every day with God, religion, and His earthly representatives—will overthrow this system of plunder, corruption, and cruelty. We will begin to live like human beings. We will establish freedom and equality. We will replace God’s hell on earth with a world of beauty and happiness. That is within our power.
