These days we hear much about the “snapback” mechanism. Will the three European governments pull the trigger? Will the Islamic Republic bow to their demands and those of the US, and raise the white flag? If Khamenei insists on continuing uranium enrichment, how far will the economic devastation inside Iran go? And if a deal is struck, what benefit will it bring to ordinary Iranians?
Undoubtedly, any retreat by the Islamic Republic is in the people’s interest, because it marks yet another political defeat for the regime. But such concessions will bring no economic relief. Prices will continue to soar, wages will barely cover a week’s expenses, and life will still “struggle beneath the poverty line”. That is the very raison d’être of the Islamic government.
In truth, the regime has long since pulled the trigger against us. For nearly five decades, it has massacred political opponents, robbed ordinary people of life, and plundered women’s existence. Look closely and the whole truth is laid bare.
For liberation, this regime must be overthrown, so that the warmth of freedom, humanity and equality can shine upon us, and life, with all its colourful blossoms, can emerge from the soil. Let us unite so that the world may dance to our rhythm.
