Forget Centrifuge Production—Build a Statue Instead-By Journal- 24 June 2025

Since 12th of June, Israel has launched its largest wave of airstrikes in recent years, explicitly targeting Iran’s nuclear programme. In effect, it has entered into a war with the Islamic Republic—one in which it now celebrates its own victories.

After Trump’s return to office for a second term, a flurry of meetings and negotiations unfolded in pursuit of yet another nuclear agreement with the Islamic Republic. This process was supposed to culminate in the “restoration of greatness to Iran,” with both sides basking in self-congratulatory declarations of triumph.

Israel, however, played its hand early. In the opening hours of the attack, it targeted and killed many of the regime’s senior military figures and nuclear scientists. The shockwaves of that assault still reverberate among the leadership of the Islamic government.

The current moment—after the declaration of a fragile ceasefire whose duration remains uncertain—marks a shift. Israel now knows it can retake Iran’s skies whenever it pleases. It can, at will, eliminate one of the Islamic Republic’s political or military leaders.

Such a blow to the Islamic Republic is incomparable to the past assassinations of Hezbollah or Hamas figures. Those operations resembled military exercises among familiar forces. What took place now was a crushing assault—one the regime has never before faced.

The Islamic Republic now finds itself unable to parade its commanders—from IRGC generals to the president—without escalating dread. These are now accessible targets.

But did we ever place our hopes in the Israeli military to destroy the Islamic Republic? Absolutely not. Neither Trump’s administration nor Netanyahu’s government ever made such promises.

Our hopes rest with our own revolutionary movement. The ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’ uprising has roots deep in society and is tethered to demands for welfare, equality, and liberty. It can only succeed through struggle. Only through fighting can it prevail.

Now that the age of centrifuge production has been hurled into the ice age of the Islamic regime’s history, and as we move toward the final defeat of the Republic, the regime may as well craft statues of its own idiocy—monuments to be mocked by the people of Iran.
